UPDATE 11/9/02 on the Montana collies

*Permission to crosspost*

Because you have been so generous also in the past, AWCA was able to continue assisting collies in need elsewhere in America throughout the 75 collie rescue situation in Washington State last summer.  We are now able to fulfill commitments to collies in need in other areas at the same time that we are assisting with the Montana rescue.

The grooming equipment donated to AWCA by General Cage was stockpiled in Washington after the summer rescue. It will now be transported to Montana. We have placed our grooming team on standby. More about that later.

Toole County Under-sheriff Donna Matoon tells us the stainless steel food pans and pails have begun arriving. She warmly thanks you all. She also was very happy to tell us IAMS was donating a "truckload" of food which was on its way to put in those food pans.

AWCA wants to thank the people of the Newfoundland and Labrador breeds for their donations to AWCA. It was beyond our expectations that persons of other breeds would come forward in such an unselfish manner to help collies in crisis.

Today we made arrangements with Under-sheriff Matoon to begin paying the medical bills.

As a reminder, if you would like to assist AWCA with this rescue effort you may send a check to:

Make the check out to AWCA and in the memo note: collie rescue-medical, or stainless steel bowls or collie rescue general.

Thank you for all that you are doing,

Jean Levitt, President AWCA

Lisa King, Director AWCA Collie Rescue
